The first port of call for visitors to the “village of the welcomes” is Adare Heritage Centre. The Centre is located on the main street of this beautiful village, with a large car park at the rear of the building, which is also suitable for coaches.

Visitors can browse some beautiful local craft shops or dine in the onsite Dovecote Restaurant which serves a selection of fresh homemade produce.

The friendly team are on hand to provide information on what’s happening locally. Visitors can pick up a copy of the Adare Visitor Guidebook, which includes a map and a comprehensive guide to shops, restaurants, bars and places of interest.

The Centre also operates tours of Adare Village and the 13th Century Desmond Castle, one of the few remaining authentic Norman Castles in Europe. Guided tours are available from June to September. Tickets can be purchased from the reception at the Adare Heritage Centre, which includes convenient transfers to and from the castle.
