Adare Bypass Progress Update - May 2026

The Adare Bypass Design and Construction Contract was awarded to Sisk Sorensen Joint Venture in December 2024.

Construction commenced in January 2025, and the contract completion is scheduled for June 2027 ahead of the Ryder Cup. Construction works continue to make steady progress to achieve the June 2027 target completion date.

The earthworks are well advanced with most structures now backfilled, with the remaining earthworks focused on finishing works and topsoiling. Drainage and ducting works are now at an advanced stage across the site. All major structures are now underway, with most of the culverts and underpasses substantially complete, the remaining river bridges and overbridges are at various stages of completion. The steel girders for the River Maigue Bridge have been delivered to site and assembly is ongoing, with the placement of girders expected to take place across June and July.

Pavement works are progressing well, with the lower pavement layers being laid across large sections of the site. Footpath works on the Adare roundabout are substantially complete, and approximately 50% complete on the Croagh roundabout.

The installation of environmental barriers and vehicle restraint systems have also commenced. Landscaping around attenuation ponds and access tracks is also progressing well.

Overall, the project remains on schedule to be open for June 2027. Further information is available at www.adarebypass.ie
