Limerick soprano Eve Stafford will return to Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel in Adare on Sunday October 4 for her third consecutive annual autumn concert, this year presenting a new programme titled Movies & Musicals.
The afternoon show will bring together music from a host of cinema and stage favourites, including Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Mary Poppins, Les Misérables, The Godfather, The Wizard of Oz and The Greatest Showman.
Stafford will be joined on stage by returning musicians violinist Anna Jane Ryan and pianist Eóin Scanlon, following her acclaimed UK concert debut in Hersham this past August.
A highlight of the programme will be a performance of Vide Cor Meum, the aria composed by Limerick-born composer Patrick Cassidy for Ridley Scott’s film Hannibal, later also featured in Kingdom of Heaven.
“While this is my third annual autumn concert at the Woodlands, I’m thrilled to bring a completely new Movies & Musicals programme to the stage this year,” Stafford said. “As a proud Limerick lady, I am so proud to be performing such an iconic movie hit composed by an internationally renowned Limerick composer like Patrick Cassidy right here on home soil.”
The concert comes shortly after Stafford was awarded a prestigious Arts Council of Ireland Agility Award, supporting her artistic development and contemporary classical collaborations.
The event begins at 2pm with afternoon tea and a glass of Prosecco, with the concert performance following at 4pm.
