Limerick won big at the annual Georgina Campbell Irish Food & Hospitality Awards as Adare’s Wade Murphy took home Chef of the Year.
The Georgina Campbell Irish Food & Hospitality Awards 2026 was announced this week at the InterContiential Dublin Hotel, with Wade Murphy taking home one of the top prizes.
Wade Murphy stepped away from serving formal fine dining experiences, deciding to instead establish 1826 Adare with his wife offering a more relaxed environment.
Wade served before as Commisioner General of Euro-Toques Ireland where he represented the chef membership organisation.
The Georgina Campbell Irish Food & Hospitality Awards recognised his achievements saying: “he continues to play an important role in Ireland’s wider professional food community.”
“And something that makes Wade’s cooking especially memorable is its generosity – there is refinement, certainly, but never at the expense of pleasure and he is a great example to others.”
The award celebration was established by Georgina Campbell, now in its fourth decade.
The event recognises the best culinary experts found across the country.
This year’s awards were supported by Bord Bia, The Shed Distillery and The Irish Wine Makers Association.
