Ahead of an estimated quarter of a million visitors descending on Adare this time next year for the hotly-anticipated Ryder Cup, Uisce Éireann says it is laying the groundwork for a more reliable water supply.
The utility will be laying almost five kilometres of new water mains in the Knockanes area to help reduce leakage and improve the reliability of the local water supply ahead of the blue ribband golf competition teeing off in Adare from September 13 to 19 next year.
“Renowned for its rich heritage, strong sense of community and hospitality, Adare is one of Ireland’s best-known destinations. While global attention will turn to the village next year, this investment is about ensuring the homes, businesses, and community facilities that rely on their water supply every day continue to be supported long into the future,” Uisce Éireann said.
Alongside these works, Uisce Éireann is progressing the Adare Water Supply Rationalisation Project, saying that “together, these investments are helping build a stronger and more reliable water supply for the community, supporting Adare’s future for years to come”.
