Adare Bypass Progress Update 13th February 2026

Construction works continue to make steady progress to achieve the June 2027 target completion date. The earthworks are well advanced with the remaining earthworks concentrated mainly around structures. Drainage and ducting works are ongoing at various locations across the site with good progress being made considering the poor weather of late. All major structures are now underway except for one culvert yet to commence construction. Pavement works have also commenced and will continue into 2027. The L8025 local road at Underbridge UB07 has reopened to traffic, having been closed since June 2025. The installation of kerbing at the Adare Roundabout east of Adare is progressing well. The Croagh Roundabout tying into the existing N21 to the east of Croagh village opened to traffic at the end of July 2025. Landscape planting of low and high-level screen planting is underway across the scheme. Overall, the project remains on schedule to be open for June 2027.

The Adare Bypass Design and Construction Contract was awarded to Sisk Sorensen Joint Venture in December 2024. Construction commenced in January 2025, and the contract completion is scheduled for June 2027 ahead of the Ryder Cup.
