This was a variety show like no other, from the first to the last performance from ten local groups who thrilled the packed marquee at Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel. Well done to Anita and her team for staging this high performance production with cutting edge technical visuals, which accompanied every performance by our local performers who gave it socks on the night!
The choreography performance by the ten groups was an absolute thrill to watch; it was full of energy, thanks to Charlotte Reidy, Choreographer.
The show exploded into action when A Family Affair’s Liam Kelly and his daughter Chloe hit the stage running and set the standard for the night. Their terrific act finished with Liam losing his hair….but nobody noticed!. That set the trend for what was to follow. Lena’s Legends raised the Tempo and Lynda O’Mahony brought Tina Turner back to life with gusto!
Two and a Half Men performed like ten men…no energy saved here!
To round off the first half The Adarashians, brought colour and magic to their act.
The second half of the show opened with Shire’s Crew togged out like a real boy band. They hit the pitch running and scored straight off with the young wans in the audience.
When the dust settled Kevin, Chawke it Down sauntered down the aisle to tickle the fancy of those on the outside seats, followed by Thistle and Clover, the Scottish and Irish duo of Seori and David with a stylish performance. The stage was then set for The Thatch Tenors and their hilarious performance of Seven Drunken Nights…pure naturals for this!!
And to finish the night’s entertainment The Celtic Vixens, magically got out of their nuns’ habits and into cool leather gear and bagged showers of men in the process in their brollies in a thunderstorm. This “packed with energy performance” received a standing ovation.
It was now down to the judges, Monsignor Dan Neenan, Louise Cantillon, John Kiely and Paudie Moloney to decide on the winner.
And the winner is Shire’s Crew.
Congratulations to the boys, James Fitzgerald, Caiden Broderick, Jordan O’Donoghue, Hugh Kearney & Jack Doran. Could this be a new Boy Band?
