Greetings All,
Many papers have been written about the Benefits of Chess in Education. Patrick S. McDonald of Canada has compiled a 104 page 'Collection of Studies and Papers on Chess and Education' into one pdf document, which can be seen on his website.... http://www.psmcd.net
This could be very useful for those of you in a 'Chess in School' situation, and could help justify any school chess projects you may have. A useful slide show can also be found on the same page.

He has given me permission for the document to be printed in Book form and sold at cost. This I have done and it is available for 6.50 Euros. Post and Packing within Ireland is 2.50e, Total 9 Euros. Any Cheques please make out to 'John Alfred'. Address is Kerry Rd, Adare, Co Limerick.

RATHKEALE CHRISTMAS MARKET
All are welcome to come along on Sunday December 6 to the Rathkeale Christmas Market in the Community Centre between 12-5pm. Rathkeale Image and Tourism Committee are delighted to be organising this event with the participation and sponsorship of about 50 businesses from Rathkeale and beyond – including Adare, Askeaton, Ballingarry, Croagh, and Newcastle West.
You'll be able to do some handy Christmas shopping at the many stalls ranging from clothes to crafts to cakes to cutting grass and much more. St Anne's Primary School Choir (as seen recently on the front of the Limerick Leader - well done to all!) will also treat us to some great singing, starting at 4.30pm - as the countdown to the switching on of the Christmas lights begins in earnest.
Kids – remember to bring your letter for Santa! He will be in his grotto waiting to meet you and have his photo taken with you. You will probably be asked by one of Santa’s helpers for your name and address so that Santa will be able to use regular post to send you back a reply – he can keep his magic for Christmas Eve!
Admission is only €2 and all children will be accompanied by an adult. There is an additional charge for to visit Santa.
If anyone wants to have their business, organisation or group advertised on the day on a computerised rolling presentation, contact Mo on 087-9915873. There is a charge for this with all income being used towards the cost of the market, the town’s Christmas lights and the St Patrick’s Day parade.
